So, I created this blog back in July and have since gotten so busy with other life responsibilities that I haven't posted since. And as I sit here wondering how to move on with my artistic dreams, I came back to this blog with the intention of finishing what I began so many months ago.
Since July I have completed another semester at Salem College and have gain a few new tools for success, which I am grateful. I have learned a lot about fundraising for not-for-profit organizations, which I see to be very useful in starting my crafts business. The main thing I learned was how to create a case statement to support the organization, which (with a few tweaks) can be used in creating a business plan for a for-profit enterprise. I hope to soon be able to have the time to create Harrold Mountain Creations' business plan and to move one step closer to my dream.
Also since July, I have decided to pursue Phase One of the MAT program at Salem College in order to obtain my teaching license so that I may be able to search for a position as an art teacher at a K-12 school - thus being able to support myself and also have summers to work on establishing Harrold Mountain Creations. I see this as the best path for me to achieve all of my artistic dreams. It is just hard in the meantime to keep things together is such a rough economy. But I know deep down that all will be well as long as I keep moving forward. And to keep myself moving forward, I am going to set the goal of posing here at least once every two weeks with updates on my progress and other insights I gain along the way.
Lastly, I would also like to invite each of you to check out my Google Site that I have created to document my work at Salem College (and with Harrold Mountain Creations). Let me know what you think.
