About Me

It took me a while to come up with that statement to describe how I view art, and how I view my own personal creations.  While not everyone will enjoy the work I create, it still represents my personal feelings toward the world and my interactions with it.  Some will feel the same things as I do, others will feel differently, and yet others may feel nothing at all.  But this is alright.  Art is not meant to entertain the masses, yet it is merely one other way for us to communicate with one another.  And just like with written and verbal language - my art may not speak to us all.  And that is just fine with me.

My journey into art began in 2003 when I enrolled at East Carolina University to study graphic design.  Between the time I started and when I graduated in 2008, my dreams changed from being a graphic designer to becoming a full-time fiber artist and arts administrator and teacher.

After graduating from East Carolina, I entered the "real world" only to find that life is harder than it appears on TV (what a surprise, LOL). Yet, I never kept dreaming and have continued to follow my art dreams. In 2011 I enrolled at Salem College to study Not-For-Profit Management & Art Entrepreneurship.  And it was not until then that I realized how art is so special.

There are so many things in the arts that I enjoy and want to be able to share those feelings with the world.  Art is one way that we can communicate our inner most thoughts and feelings without judgement.  This is because we don't even have to speak when we create art, and the art we create doesn't have to mean the same thing to everyone.  And that is what makes it so unique.

So it is here that I embark on the journey of sharing my passions with the world.
I hope that all of you enjoy the ride as much as I do!
